Mission, Vision, and Values

“Making Heaven More Crowded”.

Everyone wants to be part of something greater than themselves and to be victorious in such endeavors…to do something great with our lives. Jesus has given us the opportunity to do just that.

The Values

The Mission

Make disciples of Jesus Christ that; Worship Jesus Christ, Love each other, Seek the good of the community.

This is the task of every believer. Jesus used examples like “I will make you fishers of men.” Therefore, our mission is to equip, motivate, and expect God's people to live out the commission given by Jesus Christ to make more followers of Him.

- Matthew 28:18-20 -

We have five core values. High view of God; Absolute authority of God’s Word; Unchanging Truth; Personal holiness; Spiritual authority.

1. Having a high view of God

God created all things, sustains all things and will bring all things under and through the headship of Jesus Christ.  We depend on His mercy and grace for our physical and spiritual lives.  Therefore, loving to worship and glorifying God is the response of a high view of God.  We can’t help but to celebrate His love, grace and sacrifice to the world.  Our passion to worship and glorify our Lord as individuals and whenever we gather together.

“Glorify the Lord our God; bow in worship at His footstool.  He is holy.”  Psalms 99:5

2. Knowing the absolute authority of God’s Word

CCC is committed to preaching and teaching so that the Word of God can be known, understood and conformed to.  The Bible is the only revealed word from God where we can know who He is.  Therefore, it is absolute in its authority the foundation that supports our faith.

The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in a furnace on the ground, purified seven times.  Psalm 12:6

3. Unchanging Truth - Sound doctrine

Doctrine is simply teaching or instruction of the unchanging Truth of God’s Word.  The apostle Paul told Titus and Timothy to teach sound doctrine, Titus 2:1.  Elsewhere he said to rightly divide the Word of God.  The idea being our preaching and teaching is to be clean, healthy and safe to consume.

Therefore, sound doctrine is the true or clean healthy teachings of the Christian faith concerning its central beliefs. Grounded in Scripture and purposed is to maintain the integrity of Christianity by distinguishing it from non-Christian beliefs[1] or false doctrine.

CCC is committed to and commanded by God to be faithful to His word.  To know Him as He has revealed Himself in His Word, and to do what the Word as it shows us how to live in personal holiness.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”  2 Timothy 3:16

4. Personal holiness

God has called a people to be holy, set aside for a particular purpose, His purpose.  What the Lord wants of His church, His body has to do with virtue and character of His people.  This is not perfectionism, in that we can never become perfect in this life.  But it is the understanding that in Christ we are made new, the old lifestyle is not what we are pursuing.   Much of the time we use measurements like, how big we are, how many programs we have, how busy we are, how much money, how energized everybody feels.  All lesser things.

The Bible describes our personal holiness as a walk, to walk in a worthy manner Paul says.  Therefore, our journey to holy living then begins with one step in the power of God the Holy Spirit who is making something happen along the way, transformation each of us into the image of Christ- 2 Cor 3:18.  That’s how you live the Christian life, you walk in obedience to the word of God.

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.  Ephesians 4:1-3

5. Spiritual authority

There are two parts to spiritual authority.  First is individual.  Meaning a Holy Spirit filled Christian is given the ability to stand fast, speaking the truth in love, with the power, boldness, conviction, and fortitude because of our commitment to a penitent life of personal holiness, guided by sound doctrine, based solely on God’s revealed Word, glorifying God as we keep Him high and lifted up.

The sole reason is to rest in the confidence and surety of the salvation we have in Christ and therefore the authority to call others to the same.

The second is corporate in nature in that our elders are the overseers of this local body of believers.  We bring the Word of God, the authority of God to bear on your life, with the willing expectation you are to obey and submit to their leadership.  They are shepherds, not CEO’s and have been set aside to perform a task that comes with a great deal of weight with it.  We, as leaders, know we are not where we need to be as we follow Christ, and if you’re honest you can say the same.  So, we submit and lead in love with the goal Paul shared, to follow me as I follow Christ.

“Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.”  Hebrews 13:17

The Vision

Jesus transforms everything.  Our desire is to see a multi-generational community of believers living out their faith in Jesus Christ, committed in making heaven more crowded by the transforming power of the Holy Spirit with lives that are fully devoted to Him, both locally and globally.    We have three terms we use to talk about accomplishing this:

            Belong in real relationship

We belong in real relationship with Jesus and each other. We were created to worship. Everyone is encouraged to respond to God seeking those to save through His gospel, spending time with Him in His Word, and extending that relationship with others.

            Grow in Christlikeness

We grow in Christlikeness in the knowledge of the Word and doing the Word. Through small groups, ministry teams, fellowship events, serve opportunities, and caring for one another are just a few ways we live this out. Jesus said by your love for one another the world would know we are following Him.

Reach people where we live, work, and play.

We seek the good of the community by reaching people where we live, work, and play with the good news of Jesus Christ, with a myriad of opportunities through how God has gifted each of us serving, blessing others around us.
